Okay so you’ve just had an awesome workout and your sweaty and tired and about to head in to the shower. What most people post workout is just wash their face and call it a day… (because they’ve either already cleansed in the morning or whatever).

The importance of having a post workout skincare routine is just as vital as your morning/evening routine. When you’re working out you’re not only sweating but your body is heating up as well. There’s a higher chance of bacteria being on your face and a reaction happening because of the sweaty, hot, and humid environment on your skin.

Having a simple post workout routine should be a habit. The first step in your routine should be to cleanse. Using a natural cleanser (we’ll have one real soon) gently wash your face and neck.

Now that you have a clean base to work with, its time to exfoliate. Exfoliation is key because it helps clear clogged pores as well as helps scrub off any nasties that might be still lurking.

Using our cinnamon coffee scrub, take about a scoop or two and add in a few drops of water to form a paste. Gently scrub your face and anywhere else you’d like. Leave the scrub on for a few minutes before rinsing. You’ll immediately feel the benefits of clean skin right after!

Now, once your face is dry, the third step is to use a toner or facial mist! One of the more popular ones out there, and one that I enjoy personally is the Mario Badescu facial spray with aloe and herbs.

Once the toner or mist sets, the fourth step is to use a serum or a facial moisturizer. We are currently cooking up a face elixir (Stay tuned!).

This next step is optional, but we recommend using some SPF 20 or higher, especially if you’ll be outdoors.

Yay, so you’ve completed all the steps. If you take care of your skin at the right opportunities (i.e. post workout) you’ll have naturally glowing skin. Below we’ve posted a little summary of the steps.




  1. Cleanse (with a natural cleanser) and gently wash away the post workout sweat
  2. Exfoliate with our heavenly cinnamon coffee scrub and get rid of clogged pores!
  3. Tone/Mist and wait for it to set
  4. Moisturize with a facial oil or serum/moisturizer
  5. SPF especially if you’ll be outside!
